The author was born in Montreal, Canada. She studied Arts and Letters in college and French Literature at McGill University. She has been a translator since 1994. In 1999, she launched her writing career with a French poetry book and her own publishing company. Six years later, she published her first novel in French which she later adapted to become Traces of my Tears. The author dug in her personal story to write a fiction piece around her quest to make peace with her past doomed by her mother’s addiction to alcohol. As the story unfolds, poetry and short stories serve as “comic relief” to the character’s painful recollections.
