McGill University graduate Josee Amesse to publish first English novel

Montreal, June 16, 2010 – On June 23, 2010, French-Canadian author Josee Amesse (using the pen name Josie Ames), and also a McGill University graduate, will be launching her first English novel entitled Traces of My Tears. The event will be held at the McGill Faculty Club located at 3450 McTavish Street in Montreal from 5 to 7 p.m.

Traces of My Tears is published independently through Author House, a US-based self-publishing company which will produce and market the book in the United States and throughout the English-speaking world. Traces of My Tears is the story of a young woman’s grieving process, a journey of healing during which Julia, the main character, uncovers a family secret that will help her understand her mother’s tormented life.

The author was born in Montreal, Canada. She studied Arts and Letters in college and majored in French Literature at McGill University (BA’80). She started her translation career after obtaining a Certificate in Translation from McGill in 1996. She launched her writing career in 1999 with a French poetry book. She published her first novel in French in 2005 which she later adapted to become Traces of My Tears.
